Testimonials

Our Recipients Voices

I feel cleaner and safer.

My name is Antionette, and I live in Bokwango. When I had my period, I used a pad to cut small pieces from the Ankara fabric. I never checked if it was clean or dirty. In my experience, I was ill at ease and always endured scratches in my private area. Now that I use pads, I am more relaxed and confident. I feel cleaner and safer.
The bracelet helps me understand my period. Now I know when to abstain from having intercourse and when to expect my period and prevent embarrassment. Many thanks to JLU.

Antionette

Thank God for JLU

My name is Lilian. I live in Tiko. Before the JLU pad distribution, I would use cloth napkins for babies as pads. I thank God for JLU for introducing a new system. I used to stain my underwear all the time. It was very uncomfortable and shameful. The pads are helping me feel clean and confident. My friends always told me I had stained my dress, but now, they do not know when I have my period.
I never understood my cycle, but now I do, thanks to the education and the menstrual cycle bracelet. We are begging JLU to continue this program because it has changed the community for women and girls.

Many thanks to JLU

My name is Maureen, and I live in Tole. Before the JLU pad distribution, I would use small pieces cut from the Ankara fabric. It was very uncomfortable, leaving me with painful bumps and scratches in my private area. Now that I use pads, I am more relaxed and confident. I was always uncomfortable around my friends because of the constant leaks during my period.
The bracelet is beneficial because it helps me prevent unwanted pregnancies. Now I know when to abstain from having intercourse when to expect my period, and to avoid embarrassment. Many thanks to JLU.

I am more confident as a woman

My name is Falon. I live in Limbe Mile 1. Before the JLU pad distribution, I would use small pieces cut from the Ankara fabric. It was very uncomfortable, leaving me shy and ashamed throughout.
The pads donated are softer and more comfortable, and I am more confident as a woman. Spending 600CFA monthly on pads has been a challenge for me. Therefore, the pad supply will save my family much money. I use the menstrual cycle bracelet to understand my cycle and avoid stains and mistakes. Many thanks to JLU for the pads. I am very grateful.
